This luxurious smoothie is brimming with goodness. Fennel gives it a scrumptious, aniseed-like flavour, and the blend of chia seeds and almond butter makes it lavishly thick. Fennel seeds are usually chewed on after a meal to offset strong flavours, as they are great for digestion and freshen the breath. If you prefer, you can can use ground fennel instead of fennel seeds as it’s easy to blend smoothly – there’s so much you can do with it, it’s worth keeping a jar in your pantry.
