Kheer is one of those comforting desserts, which tastes just as good hot as it does chilled. And, in my opinion, making it with the more wholesome brown rice and almond milk adds to the yumminess of this dish. I’ve made alterations to the traditional kheer, of course, adding poached apples for extra texture and to make it a slightly lighter dish, and have mixed in chopped dates, so that some of the sweetness is already taken care of, and you don’t have to add too much jaggery or honey.
