Crab claws are a real hands-on eating experience. You’ll have to pick them up and suck out the flesh, use your teeth to clamp on to the meat inside and use your fingers and a solid toothpick, or special crab pick, to get at the meat in the corners. However, it’s well worth it: it’s fun and it’s sociable. But... if you don’t want to serve this for a formal dinner, then buy crab meat already taken from the shell.
