There is nothing, and I mean nothing (!), like homemade toffee, made from scratch on the stovetop, cooked to crumbly, crispy perfection. It’s taken me quite some time to land upon the perfect balance of sweet and buttery. I like to cook toffee just until the point it reaches a wonderfully chewy stage, when placed on your tongue, it just melts away and all you taste is caramelized sugar and butter.
