I had the privilege of growing up in a close – a funny mixed close full of children from all backgrounds. We all used to meet each other on the grass in the middle for generally-good-natured-but-occasionally-spiteful play. This ragtag bobtailed bunch also got to enjoy that strange childhood ritual of visiting each other’s houses for tea. And it was thus that I got introduced to a wonderful range of kosher foods, the like of which I have long sought to re-create.
