This comprises crumbled salad ingredients bound together with cream cheese. A tub of this in your fridge will see you effortlessly through lunchtime sandwiches to cocktail nibbles. And it ain’t bad for midnight snacks either.

Ingredients

For a Little Bowlful

  • 2–3 rashers streaky bacon
  • 250 g/9 oz/1 cup<

Method

Super-crisp grill the rashers of bacon, allow them to cool, then crumble them (I use a rolling pin). Mix them with the cream cheese, chives, lime juice and black pepper. Stud with chicory leaf ‘spoons’ – or use as a spread.
