This tart appears all over the Germanic countries from Alsace to the southernmost part of Switzerland, including some parts of Austria, under various names such as Quiche, Weihe or Waehe, or Salée in the Vaud countryside. It is sold all over in pastry shops, bakeries, and in the traiteurs-charcutiers (delicatessens) of the small Savoie towns and cities, where it definitely is an import.
