  • About

Marie Thérèse Hermann describes a less elaborate version of this as a tonic for people approaching their fifties.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 strip each

Method

Bring the wine to a boil, add the sugar and citrus rinds and cool to lukewarm. Add the saffron and let it steep a whole week. Strain into a clean bottle. Keep refrigerated; it tastes best chilled anyhow.
