Method

Wash and pare six Swedish turnips and cut into small dice. Place in a pot with the marrow bone, add water to cover and a little salt. Bring to the boil and cook gently until the turnips are soft and richly yellow. Put three tablespoonfuls of oatmeal into a bowl. Add a walnut of butter and a little salt and pepper. Strain the turnip bree (stock) into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Pour
