  • Flour, butter, castor sugar, bicarbonate of soda, jam, eggs

Method

Sift four ounces of flour. Beat two eggs. Cream four ounces of butter with two of sugar. Beat in the flour and eggs alternately. Add two tablespoonfuls of jam (strawberry for preference) and, lastly, mix half a teaspoonful of soda with a
