  • wild strawberries
  • lemons
  • sugar
  • water

Method

Place five pints of berries in the preserving-pan. Add the juice of two lemons and a quart of cold water. Bring slowly to the boil and simmer until all the juice is extracted. Strain and measure juice. Add a pound of sugar to each pint and boil to setting-point. Skim, pot, and seal.
