  • Gentian root, 2 coriander seed, bitter-orange peel, camomile flowers, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, whisky

Method

Cut one ounce and three-quarters of gentian root and half an ounce of orange peel into small pieces. Put them into a mortar with one ounce of coriander seed, quarter of an ounce of camomile flowers, quarter of an ounce of cinnamon stick, and half an ounce of cloves. Bruise all together. Put into an earthenware jar, empty two bottles of whisky over it, cover so that the jar is air-tight, and let
