  • Whisky, sugar, hot water


Pour boiling water slowly into a tumbler till about half full. Let the water remain until the crystal is thoroughly heated, then pour it out. Put in three or four pieces of loaf sugar, and pour over them a wineglassful of boiling water. When the sugar is dissolved, add a wineglassful of whisky and stir with a silver spoon; add more boiling water, and finally a second glass of whisky. Stir again
