Mix the flour, soda water, oil and salt together and set aside for 10 minutes. Cut the bananas in half across the middle and add them to the batter, coating them well. Heat the oil in a wok or large saucepan to 180°C (350°F), or until a cube of bread dropped into the oil browns in 15 seconds.
Using a fork, skewer the banana pieces, and add to the oil one at a time. Cook for 3–5 minutes,
