Make Your Own Cake Stand

I love cake stands but they can be pricey. Here is an easy way to make your own. It works well with cut glass that might look a bit tacky as separate pieces. Or you could use china candlesticks that are perhaps a bit modern, with a vintage china plate.
Method
Clean and dry the plate and candlestick. Find the centre of the plate and mark the spot. Prepare the glue according to packet instructions, then turn your plate upside down and apply a thin coat to the centre of the bottom of your plate using a brush or stick. Don’t touch the glue with your bare hands.
Place the top of the candlestick in the gluey centre of the bottom of the plate. Work
