  • Butter, at room temperature
  • Marmite
  • 4 slices white pre-sliced bread
  • Thin slices

Method

You have two possible techniques to use when making a classic Marmite sarnie: you can go the Nigella route, which I like very much, or the more formal route.

  1. Nigella method: cream the butter and the marmite together until you have a pleasing caramel colour, to the strength of your choice. Spread it on the bread, edge to edge. Add black pepper to taste, if
