Ingredients: 100 ml Heinz salad cream; 1 carrot, finely diced; ¼ stick celery, finely diced; 5-6 gherkins, drained and finely diced; ½ red pepper, deseeded and finely diced; 1 tsp Dijon mustard or any mild non-grainy mustard; 1 tsp Dijon mustard or any mild non-grainy mustard; Sea salt, to taste

Remember this? Remember salad cream, before we discovered proper mayonnaise? My nan always had ‘sandwich spread’ on the tea table. For those who love nostalgia, here is a home-made version.

Ingredients

100 ml Heinz salad cream
1 carrot, finely diced
¼ stick

Method

Mix all the ingredients together, then chill and use in sandwiches.
