If you are boycotting Nestle, you can make your own organic condensed milk. It isn’t quite as sweet as the tinned stuff, either.
Put the milk and sugar into a heavy-based pan over a medium-high heat. Bring to the boil, then turn down the heat to very low and simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours, stirring regularly with a spatula. You’ll need to stir it more frequently towards the end, and if it does become lumpy, just whizz it until smooth using a hand-held stick blender.
Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a tea
