This rich recipe uses chestnut flour, which is available in Italian food shops, delis and online (see stockists). It’s sweet and soft. Replace with plain flour or Italian type ‘00’ flour if it’s too hard to get hold of, but I think it makes a lovely combination with the dark chocolate, seasonal figs and perhaps a small liqueur to imbibe. A perfect autumn dish.
