Ingredients

  • 1 fresh, crusty baguette
  • Butter, for spreading
  • 100 g dark chocolate

Method

French people might not get fat, but they love Le gouter: a long crusty fresh-as-air baguette, split down the side seam with a finger, spread with unsalted butter and squares of dark chocolate. In French parks you’ll see smartly dressed pre-school children at tea time, eating these chocolate baguettes.
