These are very popular at the moment, a bauble of sweeties in the manner of topiary, ideal for a centrepiece. They are very easy and cheap to make yourself! I found the equipment at Hobbycraft (see stockists) or on eBay.
Ingredients
- Sweets of your choice; for this I used red marshmallow sweets, but use any sweets you can stick a cocktail stick into
- Small sweets for the pot; I used small white and pink tic tacs, but use anything you like
Method
Mix the plaster of Paris according to the packet instructions, then pour it into your plant pot or tin to three-quarters full. Quickly place the wooden baton vertically in the centre, about 4 or 5cm down, and hold it in place until the plaster has dried around it.
Once the baton is secure, plunge the ball of oasis on to the exposed end, but not so far that the baton comes out of the top
