You’d be surprised how very simple it is to make your own sugar cubes, plus it gives your tea party a hand-made rustic look, while the different flavours add something extra to the taste of your tea.

Ingredients

  • 150 g white granulated sugar per flavour
  • 1 tsp flavouring such as rose water, orange-blossom water, or fresh lemo

Method

Put the sugar into a large bowl. In a separate small cup, combine the flavouring, water and food colouring. Pour this mixture into the sugar and mix thoroughly until evenly combined.

Pour the flavoured sugar on to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or a silicone mat and pat it into a compact rectangle. Use a bench scraper or knife to cut the block across in rows and then again in colu
