  • 2 cups Japanese short-grain rice
  • 2Β½ cups water

Method

  1. Wash the rice by placing it in a large container and covering it with water, then pour off the water. Continue until the water being poured off is clear. Drain in a fine-mesh colander.
  2. Place the rice in a medium-sized nonstick pot and add the water. Cover and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes.
