These scones have been very popular among travelers along the Silk Road region since ancient times not only because they are soft, delicious and highly nutritious, but also because they keep very well. I have decorated these with a lotus flower rosette stamp, which is the flower in the hands of the Mede (bottom left photograph) found on a bas-relief at Persepolis.
