  • About

This is a tea served on special, festive occasions. During a wedding it is served at the bride’s house along with sweets and pastries brought by the groom’s family. A similar tea is made in Tibet and Kashmir where it is salted rather than sweetened. The name qaymaq refers to the thick cream, much like clotted or Devonshire cream, that is floated on top of the tea. You can find it ready made in Afghan stores or you can make your own.*
