These two salads never go amiss on the family dinner table and the recipes are very simple. For some reason, however, when my mom makes potato salad, it just tastes better than when I make it. These are best accompanied by Dad’s braaied lamb chops.

Ingredients

For the potato salad

  • 6 large potatoes
  • 2.5 ml salt, plus extra for seasoning
  • 3 large

Method

  1. To make the potato salad, place the unpeeled potatoes into a large saucepan. Cover with cold water and add the salt.
  2. Boil the potatoes until fork tender and then drain and set aside to cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, peel and dice the potatoes into bite-size pieces. Tip into a serving bowl.
  4. Peel and grate the eggs on the finest part of your gr
