I have to confess that this is one of the dishes that I’m most proud to have created. It’s the best weekend lunch recipe in my repertoire, great for when you’re in the mood for a braai but can’t be bothered to light up the coals and actually braai. It’s like bringing the braai indoors, I love it!

Ingredients

  • 365 g bread flour
  • 5 ml salt
  • 15 ml

Method

  1. Mix the flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl and then stir in enough warm water to form a soft dough.
  2. Transfer onto a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes, adding more flour if necessary. The dough should be smooth and springy to the touch.
