My sister and I have an annual tradition: in December, we go to Ceres and pick our own cherries – well, she usually does most of the picking while I point out the best cherries and eat the pickings, but it’s teamwork nonetheless. Every year, we return home with more cherries than we can possibly eat, so I preserve them to enjoy even long after the season ends.
