Mixed sandwiches (“mix sando” in Japanese) are a combination of sandwiches made with white bread, egg salad, ham, cheese, and vegetables, such as cucumber, lettuce, and tomatoes. Almost all traditional Japanese coffee houses, called kissaten, serve these crustless sandwiches for lunch or as a light meal. They are also sold at convenience stores in Japan.
