Method

Pick over the fruit carefully, no need to remove the strings. For every 450 g of redcurrants use 175 ml of water. Put into a large saucepan and boil to a pulp for about 20 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve or jelly bag. The pulp can be frozen and used at some later stage to make a fruit tart.
