Sago is often steamed but it works well in a slow cooker, too. Here it’s teamed with sweet pineapple and nutty coconut.

Place the sago in the slow cooker with 2 tablespoons of the sugar, the cinnamon, vanilla, lemon zest and a pinch of salt. Pour in the milk and coconut milk and gently mix together.

Cover and cook
