Mint fans will love this kicked-up-a-notch simple syrup for making an even mintier julep or for any other cocktail needing more zest.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 fresh mint sprigs</

Method

Combine the sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Heat to a boil while stirring. Reduce the heat and continue to stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the mint and set aside; cool to room temperature. Pour the mint syrup through a strainer into a clean container and store in the refrigerator indefinitely.
