Figs are eaten in all sorts of ways in Italy - fresh, dried, baked, etc. - but this simple recipe is particularly good. You could serve it with double cream. Italians, as a rule, don’t but the choice is yours.
Carefully peel the figs and arrange them close together on a baking tray. Sprinkle a spoonful of vanilla sugar over each one.
