There are many versions of this kind of sweet and the size can vary from one convent or pastry shop to another. The last time I bought alfajores was from the Convent of the Mother of God in Jerez: they were wonderful. I can thoroughly recommend any of the many versions to anyone with a sweet tooth. From the same convent I also bought some butter biscuits which were as good as the best I have ever eaten.
