Stacking Tiers with a Central Column

Separating cake tiers with a central column gives a contemporary, uncluttered look and wrapping the column in a contrasting or complementary ribbon creates a dramatic or more subtle effect. It’s not necessary to add finishing touches between the tiers so this technique is popular for designs that reach or cover the top of each tier so that they can be clearly seen.
