Black-Pearl Tiara

It is the current fashion for brides to wear beautiful gilded tiaras either with or to replace a lace veil. On this cake, which was inspired by a pearl tiara, I have repeated the pattern around the tier, hand piping pearls of different sizes. This design lends itself to stark contrasting colours, such as black on ivory as used here, or ivory on caramel used on the three-tier cake below. For a truly romantic wedding cake, brush ivory pearls with topaz lustre.
