These are a firm favourite - cute bumble bees with a green-and-white polka-dot ribbon. This cake would be suitable for a child’s birthday or christening. Have boxes ready for the guests to take their cake home at the end of the party.

  • 25 individual round cakes covered with marzipan and sugar paste
  • 3-tier stand - 10 in/

Method

Make the bumble bees’ bodies from an elongated ball of yellow paste. Roll the black paste out very thinly and cut narrow black strips and fix these in position over the bumble bees’ bodies. Roll out the white petal paste and use a single rose petal cutter to make the wings. Fix these into position with sugar glue. Use a marking tool for the mouth and pipe 2 black eyes.
