Belacan (Malaysian shrimp paste) gives this sambal a distinctive character. I make a version of a gado gado salad where I toss Peanut Lime Sauce through stir-fried vegetables and bean sprouts and then serve this sambal as an accompaniment for those who want an extra chilli fix.
