A classic dessert given a hint of spiciness with ginger. I sometimes partner this rich cream with crisp shortbread studded with candied ginger — similar flavours but a contrasting texture. Fortune cookies, available from Asian food stores, make an easy accompaniment, too. Small baked madeleine cakes flavoured with candied ginger are another alternative.
