Batter

  • 9 oz/255 g self-rising cornmeal
  • 1 egg

Method

  1. For the batter, combine the cornmeal, egg, buttermilk, salt, and cheese and mix until smooth.
  2. Skewer the frankfurters, allowing at least 4 in/10 cm of the skewer to protrude.
  3. Dip the frankfurter into the flour and shake off all excess.
