  • 2 fl oz/60 mL extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced

Method

  1. Combine the olive oil and garlic in a small saucepan, heat gently, and cook over low heat for 1 minute.
  2. Slice the bread on a drastic bias into ¼-in/6-mm-thick slices, brush with the garlic oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill until lightly charred on both sides and crispy throughout, 30 to 60 seconds per side. Serve immediately.
