Method

  1. Peel the melons thoroughly, remove all seeds, and cut into large dice.
  2. For the syrup, combine the water and sugar, bring to a boil over medium heat, and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 1 minute. Allow to cool to room temperature, combine in a blender with the lime juice and basil leaves, and purée until smooth.
