This is a savoury version of bread and butter pudding, and is a quick way to turn an ordinary sandwich into a main course. You can adapt the idea to make other kinds of Strata, perhaps adding a few slices of tomato, or using ham or prawns instead of cheese.

  • 2 large slices of wholemeal
