These simple drops look especially pretty when poured into little moulds. If you can get your hands on an antique mould, use that. Otherwise, pour them out free-form on to an oiled marble slab or baking sheet. Pear drops are a traditional favourite in many countries, and jars of them are still common in many old-fashioned sweet shops.

Ingredients

  • grapeseed or groundnut (peanut) oil, for greasing
