These Biscuit Doughnuts are very beginner-friendly—I came up with them before I even owned a stand mixer. The Lemon Glaze for your finished doughnuts is simple, smooth, and zesty. It lifts these sweet treats to the next level and wraps them in a delicate glaze. They are best the day they are made.

Method

Fill a large, deep frying pan with 2 inches of vegetable oil (the pan should not be more than half full). Over medium-high heat, warm the oil until a deep-frying thermometer registers 365–370°F (185–188°C). Place a wire rack lined with paper towels next to the stovetop.
