Zucchini

David G. Fairchild, the pioneering plant hunter, and his patron Barbour Lathrop encountered the zucchini and collected seed during his 1899 to 1900 global expedition. In his 1901 report of his findings, Fairchild noted “Zuccini from northern Italy; one of the most importan
