  • 4 tablespoons uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 tablespoon crushed, dried red bird’s eye chillies

Method

  1. Heat a dry, heavy-based frying pan and toast the uncooked rice until it is golden brown. Put the rice in a spice grinder and grind to a fine powder, then set aside.
  2. Put the chillies in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of the rice powder and mix well.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and the remaining rice powder and stir well until you have a relatively thick sau
