This soup is also known as Jokai soup, named after the famous Hungarian novelist, Mor Jokai, who adored this dish. It is a hearty, substantial and one-pot soup, containing red kidney beans, vegetables and smoked sausage as well as a smoked pork shank. For even more Hungarian authenticity, top the soup with your favourite dumplings just before serving.
