Beans are eaten with great relish in Ukraine. Lightly spiced, moist, and delicious, I like my bean fritters topped with a scoop of creamy cottage cheese or a dollop of thick sour cream. While the flavor of fresh fruit nicely complements beans and legumes, some Ukrainians prefer fruit preserves or syrups with this dish. The choice is certainly yours.
