Baked Chicken with Champignons and Sour Cream

Ukrainians, as do most Slavs, have a special reverence and possess a certain flair for creating sauces with sour cream and mushrooms. Perhaps it is similar to the way the French combine wine and shallots in so many of their sauces. In this dish the chicken is baked with a good deal of ordinary white mushrooms, permeating the meat with flavor. You may use a cut-up whole chicken or an assortment of legs and breasts, or whichever parts you prefer.
